Working in a Hardware company is so different from Software. Not only the job focus is different but also the payment is different.

In Taiwan, a hardware company gives more salary than software. Usually startups are paying better even though they are software companies. Most startups are for AI or blockchain now which are hot topics.

In the hardware company most of them are very clear about who is doing what. Therefore, if you want to learn other skills then you have to change your job. Of course, the payment is different. On the other hand, for a software company, most companies that I know in Taiwan, they love to let you do other types of jobs while they pay you the same price. Sometimes, the higher manager will even ask you to do the other jobs while you have one or two major focuses already. The higher manager loves to use words that they are giving you favor to learn more and help you grow which only use you to have less cost.

We are not saying that we should pay less for the people who work with us. In my experience, I already see many companies who are paid less or unfair got many negative voices. They even have a hard time recruiting right or skilled people to work for them. Therefore, to pay people fair and train them well, employees are usually working harder to get the company to grow faster.

Some of the people who are skillful and work for those companies as I talked with them about why. Most of them told me that they have been laid or they have their own focus. Recently, I am taking Business Classes. One of the mentors told us that the main focus of the company is to live and earn money. Maybe those skillful people are the same that they have their own reason to help or work for those companies as temporary.
